    Word AutoCorrect has some smiles to enter in your document. Simply type a colon followed by parenthesis close : ) [no space between], this will be automatically corrected to smiling face. Similarly a colon followed by vertical bar will produce indifferent face as displayed in question.

      This question is from Word 2003. In Word 2003 status bar, it contained many useful indicators, some displaying status and some toggle ones that you could enable and disable. REC indicator was there to indicate if macro recording is on or off, OVR to indicate if typeover mode is one, TRK for track changes mode and so on.

      Bookmarks are the marks placed in a document. You can create table of contents, table of figures, Index, Cross Reference etc to make it easy to jump quickly to required place.

      So, cross reference enables you to move directly to specific location in a document. While, bookmarks are the marks to specific location in a document saved so that you can use it later for further processing.

        • A cross-reference allows you to link to other parts of the same document. For example, you might use a cross-reference to link to a chart or graphic that appears elsewhere in the document. The cross-reference appears as a link that takes the reader to the referenced item.

          If you want to link to a separate document you can create a hyperlink.

    • Hi Sabina,

      Sometimes when options are very close to the correct answer, they confuse more. Regarding Q. No. 97 Ctrl+F, Ctrl+G and Ctrl+H all open the same dialog box. However, the active tab is different with the different shortcut keys. If you are trying to find some text, you should press Ctrl+F. When you need to jump to some other pages, bookmarks etc, you’ll press Ctrl+G. In moments when you try to replace a text with something else, you’ll press Ctrl+H. Thus option C is the correct answer.

      Q. NO 74 is about the nature of tab stop markers. If there are no tab stop markers in ruler, it will jump the cursor by 1/2 inch every time you press Tab key. Once you place a tab stop marker, the cursor will jump directly to the position where tab stop marker is placed (not 1/2 inch this time). From that position if you go on pressing tab, it again follows the 1/2 inch rule. Thus, placing a tab stop somewhere in ruler is clearing default (1/2 inch) tab stops before the marker (to the left of marker). Thus, option C is the correct answer.

    • Yes I agree with you. But at the other side, you can test yourself if answer is not immediately visible. I suggest you to open same page on two browser tabs and you can use ctrl+tab to switch. How about that ?
